What's in a Nuc?
A nucleus colony consists of five deep frames in plastic nuc box containing local bees, brood, a laying queen, and food. You will pick up the nuc in this box and transport to your apiary.

Overwintered Nucs
This spring we will also offer an option of overwintered fall nucs.
Overwintered nucs tend to outperform spring nucs by building up faster in spring, thanks to their established colony and proven queen, giving them a head start on honey production. They’re less prone to swarming since the colony is already stable. While ideal for experienced beekeepers seeking early growth and productivity, spring nucs are easier and more flexible for beginners learning the ropes.
