B’s Bees LLC is a family business specializing in removing and relocating honey bee colonies from structures or unwanted places in Baldwin County, Alabama. We manage apiaries throughout Baldwin County and are active in our local and state beekeeping associations. We have a passion for the honey bee and are committed to continuing our education, conservation movements, and supporting our local beekeepers.
How we got started
We found ourselves in the homesteading movement with an overly ambitious, organic garden, and it quickly turned into a small farm with chickens, turkeys, and dairy goats. We started planting flowers and herbs around our property in an attempt to lure honeybees and pollinators to our garden to increase yields. When a swarm of bees moved into our home, I knew it was a sign. Our very first hive came from my kitchen wall. I have learned a lot about bees and bee removals since then. Now my husband and I run our own beekeeping business. Our one hive has grown into many apiaries, and my love for the honey bee continues to grow. When my husband and our team of beekeepers do removals, our number one priority is customer service. But during the whole process our focus is to take care of the bees, treat them respectfully and give them a home in a location that is more appropriate. The honey bee faces a lot of challenges and being stewards of what we have been given, we need to try to make life a little less hard on them. We pride ourselves on the success of keeping the colony alive and intact. Depending on the season it could take a lot of time and attention to get the bees back up to full strength.
I have made it my goal to help as many people as I can become beekeepers or become better beekeepers. I am the past President of Baldwin County Beekeepers Association, I am a Certified Alabama Master Beekeeper, and I manage our apiaries that are constantly growing and changing.
Bees are amazingly wonderful and fascinating, and beekeeping is a lifelong learning process. I encourage anyone who is interested in bees to pursue that interest, whether it is by becoming a beekeeper, a gardener, or just supporting those who keep bees, even if it’s buying local honey.
Thank you for your interest and support,
Becka
